Born in Tuapse (Russia) in 1986.
Vika Bykovskaya is a documentary and portrait photographer. Her photography is close to an intuitive approach, which hides a very personal reading of the world. In her practice, she focuses on a person, psychology, a person’s relationship with himself and his body, with other people and the place in which he lives. She is also interested in topics of intimacy, boundaries, alienation, loneliness and memory.
As a visual artist, she is most interested in exploring what is closest to her. These can be close people or the territory of the North-West of Russia, where she lives. She is convinced that a deep personal attachment to a place can be a powerful source of inspiration.
Currently, Vika lives and works in Saint Petersburg (Russia).
